My Asian genes make it difficult to believe that I'm turning 40 this year.

Nonetheless, this transitions into an unknown decade is still daunting.

So, I'm refocusing such anxieties into my art, redirecting the previous human touch series of hands into an exploration of womanhood.

Redefining aging as evolving as nature teaches us about seasons and evolution symbolised through hands and still life - mainly flowers.

It's about the softness and strength of femininity as we evolve through our seasons.

Numbers in Nature

Series 1 Numbers in Nature is inspired by my best friend's pondering what numbers count when our days are numbered explores strength and vulnerability.

Through a hand grasping a single Chrysanthemum flower, I m depicting how our hand can gently hold the softness of a flower with strength and grace.

I've purposely left the skin tone as an array of tones, so that every woman can find resonance in my painting.

The gesture is quiet strength that is simultaneously soft and steady.

Before I released my limited fine art prints this week, I received two orders, one as a birthday present for their mother.

So these A1 prints (limited to 35 prints) are off to Stockport and Shanghai.
