Kiani Artisan Tea

Housed in the Royal Exchange in Bank, Kiani Artisan Tea is founded by Sara. She continues the legacy of her great-grandfather, a prominent tea merchant and exporter in ancient Persia.

The Story

Kiani Tea was the very first edition for Artisan in the City because of the parallel with my colour blending. Sara blends her teas sourced from across the world, combining them with the instinct of someone carrying a family craft across generations. I blend my colours the same way from primary pigments by hand.

The Colour

Butter Yellow is the main character in this painting. It adds warmth to the grey architecture of the Royal Exchange and symbolises that even amid the hustle and bustle of the city, one must always carve out time for the warm hospitality of artisan tea — freshly brewed, and sipped slowly.

I've selected William Morris Hahnemühle 310gsm paper for its rich, luxurious texture and brilliant matte-white finish, which allows the layered tones to show through with real clarity.
